چکیده

Biogas is a significant by-product produced in algae processing and may be used for many different applications, not only as renewable energy carrier but also chemical intermediate integrated algae-based biorefineries. In this work, the reforming of biogas to H2/CO2 mixtures (referred SynFeed) feed direct hydrogenation CO2 methanol investigated. Two conventional processes, namely steam methane autothermal reforming, with upstream separation from raw are compared novel concepts bi- tri-reforming. addition, downstream SynFeed using commercial Selexol process produce pure H2 considered. The results show that subsequent most economic process, costing 142.48 €/tSynFeed, taking into consideration revenue excess hydrogen. Bi-reforming expensive cost 413.44 due high demand input. Overall, more economical than capture water electrolysis (464 €/tSynFeed), slightly natural gas an input (107 €/SynFeed). Carbon comes costs 22.58–27.19 €/tCO2, where approximately 50% derived final compression.

A Simulation and Techno-Economic Optimization-Based Methodology to Design Multi-Product Lignocellulosic Biorefineries

In this paper we present a novel methodology for joint optimization of process technologies, strategic capacity design and process operations. An iterative methodology is suggested to simulate and optimize nonlinear conversion processes and utilize process yields thus obtained to optimize the long term capacity design of process plants. This methodology is applied to a multiproduct biomass refi...

Comparative techno-economic assessment and LCA of selected integrated sugarcane-based biorefineries.

This work addresses the economic and environmental performance of integrated biorefineries based on sugarcane juice and residues. Four multiproduct scenarios were considered; two from sugar mills and the others from ethanol distilleries. They are integrated biorefineries producing first (1G) and second (2G) generation ethanol, sugar, molasses (for animal feed) and electricity in the context of ...

Techno-economic analysis and climate change impacts of sugarcane biorefineries considering different time horizons

BACKGROUND Ethanol production from lignocellulosic feedstocks (also known as 2nd generation or 2G ethanol process) presents a great potential for reducing both ethanol production costs and climate change impacts since agricultural residues and dedicated energy crops are used as feedstock. This study aimed at the quantification of the economic and environmental impacts considering the current an...
